$200K Challenge

The $200K Challenge is our flagship event, and an annual start-up competition focused on identifying and rewarding disruptive companies in the medical technology and biotechnology industries.

Up to 15 startups are selected to compete for a share of more than $200,000 in in-kind support, resources and funding to advance their technology.

Barracuda Bowl Pitch Competition

The Barracuda Bowl is our annual "Shark Tank" style pitch competition, co-hosted with Mintz. Out of hundreds of applications, 5 startups are selected to pitch their point of care innovation to a panel of medtech "barracudas".

During the pitch competition at Mintz Law Offices in Boston, the finalists will get their solution in front of interested investors and strategics.

The UML LIFT Program

The UMass Lowell Innovative Fellows Training Program (LIFT) is an experiential biotech and Medtech learning opportunity for graduate students and post-doctoral researchers working in the fields of aging and aging-related diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease.

LIFT fellows will gain business skills including competitive analysis, analytical marketing, regulatory strategy, reimbursement strategy, and financing a venture.

IMPACT Accelerator Program

The IMPACT Accelerator Program is a 12-week accelerator program that uses a unique 1:1 approach and is created to connect startups with resources needed for commercialization. Selected companies will have the opportunity to engage with our corporate sponsors.

The accelerator ends in a pitch competition held at the UMass iHub in Lowell, where the members of the cohort compete for prizes worth thousands.
